The Ancient Walk

Project statement

One such night, when the villagers gathered, the Shaman performed. His feet stomped on the damp earth. Eyes closed.

He listened, not to the voices, but to the silences between them or perhaps, the language of the wind and the pulse of the river.

In Takasera, Rukum, shamans are revered as ancient knowledge holders. It is said that the visions they receive in the depths of the night, often through dreams, guide them in healing the sick.

Life in Takasera is deeply intertwined with nature. The food that finds its way to each plate is grown in the very fields tended by the families who live there. They weave their own fabric to sew their clothing, carve their own tools and instruments, and plant seeds saved from previous harvests.

This is a way of life rooted in self-reliance, tradition, and deep connection to the land.
