Project statement

Nagdaha in Lalitpur is a place of culture, history, and curiosity, where hundreds of bird species visit the Daha. The lake is a site where air meets water, and where myth and ecology have long coexisted. But in today’s era of rapid change, that balance is shifting. The invasion of modern materials and ideas has disrupted traditional understandings, replacing stewardship with consumption. What once was, is no longer easily visible.

The presence of the invasive water lettuce, Jalkumbhi, offers a symbol of deeper disruption. Its spread mirrors how external forces, ideological as much as ecological, have altered the lake's natural rhythms. Will coexistence with nature be possible amid such degradation?
