Project statement
Nirjal, Sagar, Sutip, and Suman drive their trucks up to 15 times a month between the cities of Itahari, Birgunj, and Hetauda. Their village lies just 50 kilometers from Hetauda, but they rarely get to sleep in their own bed. Poor driving conditions, police checkpoints, and endless delays have turned the road into their home.
They find comfort in the friendships built along the highway, in the tea stalls, and in the familiar faces of shopkeepers who know them by name.
