Project statement
This is the story of my life and the people I grew up with, especially my grandparents and their friends. The bonds we shared, the love and the time we spent together have shaped who I am today. Life has changed in so many ways. Since the passing of my grandparents and the departure of many friends who were like family, I find myself being hollowed bit by bit. I have always craved for the warmth and closeness I once knew with them. I searched far and wide for that feeling again – and then, I found it, unexpectedly, in the birth of my daughter, River. Now, seeing my mother loving this little child like she is the only child in the world has brought back that same joy I thought was lost. It made me realize that time may pass, people and places might change, but some kind of love remains the same.
